The Umdala portion of the program is one that's dear to my heart. We adopted this term from the Zulu language which means elder. We believe that having retired grandparents and parents who have already raised their children come alongside a young mother/father or family and assist them with creating a healthy functioning home will ultimately provide growth and progression for the child, the school, the community and ultimately the world. While the dynamics of the village has changed, the essence and purpose remains the same. Giving support, hope and real life in home training and assistance is what's going to bring a change.
